God and Science pt. 3

Many people in western civilization have heard the name of Jesus, some may also know something about the gospel. Many however, have not really experienced the power in the name of Jesus. The gospel is beautiful, exciting, and life changing. It's easy for us, as Christians, to brush off the importance of the gospel because we have heard it so many times. We let it become something that is normal in our lives, not something incredible. I want to encourage you not to tune out to the gospel, but to have a new appreciation every time you hear it, receive it, and share it.

Most, if not every person you will ever talk to in your life will know who Jesus is. Changes are, we aren't going to go up to someone, say the name Jesus, and them ask, who? Sharing the gospel is so much more than sharing the name of Jesus. Most people know the name of Jesus and even recognize Him as an important historical figure, but if they haven't accepted Jesus, they haven't committed themselves to living a life for Jesus. And more importantly, they haven't experienced true relationship with their creator.

As Christians, we should be ready and fully equipped when we share the gospel. It is a lifelong journey. It is so important to be willing to come alongside others once we share the extraordinary news because they need guidance on next steps. Giving your life to Jesus isn't a one-and-done thing, it is a process that unfolds for the rest of our lives. It takes commitment, dedication, trust, and vulnerability to have a true relationship with our Savior.

What if I told you that there are people in this world that don't believe in the moon? You may be thinking, um what do you mean that don't believe in the moon? I mean exactly that; they don't believe in the moon. There are people who believe that the moon is a mere unit used for spying. When I heard this for the first time, my immediate reaction was, how could someone not believe in the moon, it is right in front of us. It is guiding our footsteps at night, shining down on the Earth, how could someone not believe? It was in that moment that I realized how much more important it is for us to invite people into having a relationship with God. The argument for the moon being real is that it is right in front of our faces. We have to be prepared that people aren't going to understand or maybe even believe that God is real because they can't see Him. If people don't believe in the moon and it is something that we can see, of course people aren't going to believe in God because they can't see Him.

We have this flaw in our human bodies that causes us to have trouble trusting. We struggle trusting our future in the hands of God. We struggle trusting in the words He says. We struggle believing so many things, but because we have felt Jesus and we have a relationship with Him, we have a reason to believe. The reason most people who have heard about Jesus don't believe, is that they haven't been led into a relationship with Him. We get to come alongside new believers and help them fully commit their lives to God.
